Abstract

Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 has set the stage for a long and costly war for both sides. The consequences of this war, which is still ongoing and there is no clear prospect for its end, have involved not only Russia and Ukraine, but also countries far and near. One of the reasons for this is the high capability of Russia and Ukraine in producing and supplying the world's basic food resources. Because these two countries are leaders in the world in the field of supplying agricultural products. Africa, as one of the regions that is most dependent on Russian and Ukrainian food exports, has not been spared from the consequences of this war. Due to necessity, this research examines the impact of the war between Russia and Ukraine on security and the right to food in the three countries of Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. The research seeks to answer the question, what consequences did this war have for the food security of Egypt, Tunisia and Libya? The findings of the research show that the war, the main cause of inflation and food insecurity in these three countries, intensified and the people of these countries. In the area of providing security and the right to food as one of the important social rights, they suffered damage. Of course, the impact of this on the people of these countries has been different, as Egypt and Tunisia suffered the most damage in the area of security and the right to food. But despite food inflation, due to the increase in oil prices, Libya was able to obtain more sources of income and the shortcomings in the security supply chain. Cover the right to food.
